Metamorphosis Fall 2008

What is Metamorphosis? Metamorphosis is a Spiritual Retreat for Students in 6th – 12th grade. This weekend retreat is filled with worship, activities both in large and small group settings, and a time for students to grow deeper in their faith.
Who attends? We have three different weekends depending on your current grade.
6th Grade – Saturday, November 1st – Sunday, November 2nd
7th & 8th Grade – Friday, October 24th – Sunday, October 26th
9th – 12th Grade – Friday, November 7th – Sunday, November 9th
Where is the retreat held? All of the retreats will be held at YouthFront Camp SOUTH near LaCygne about 35 minutes south of The Church of the Resurrection on Hwy 69 – 17 miles south of Louisburg. Students arrange their own transportation to and from the camp.
When do we arrive and leave the retreat?
6th grade check in is at 1:00 pm on Saturday. The retreat concludes at 4:00 pm on Sunday. There will be a parent meeting at 3:30 pm on Sunday in the Dining Hall followed by closing worship session at 4:00.
7th - 12th grade check in is at 7:30 pm on Friday night. The retreat concludes at 10:00 am on Sunday.
There will be a parent meeting at 9:00 am in the Dining Hall followed by the closing worship with the students at 9:30.
What is the cost?
7th - 12thgrade - $99.00 covers your lodging, meals, t-shirt and devotional material for the weekend.
6th Grade - $65.00 covers your lodging, meals, t-shirt and devotional material for the weekend
What are the accommodations? YouthFront has cabins that consist of 4 rooms per cabin (each with 2 bunk beds) and then a separate room in the cabin for the two leaders to share. Each cabin has its own restroom with showers. There are small lockers available to lock up any personal items. (you will need to provide the lock)
Do students have to be a member of the church to attend the retreat? This retreat is for all students whether they are members of our church, another church, or for some this is the first time that they come to know Jesus.

When do we arrive and leave the retreat? Check in for 7th & 8th grade and 9th – 12th grade weekends are at 6:30pm on Friday night and the retreat is over at 10:00am on Sunday.
Check in for the 6th grade weekend is at Noon on Saturday and the retreat is over at 4:00 pm on Sunday.

What is my role as a cabin leader? You will be assigned a group of students (no more than16) along with another leader. You may have a friend in mind that you want to lead with or, we can connect you with a leader that has volunteered before. We’ll equip you with an easy to use devotional to use during discussion time in your cabins; you will encourage and support the students throughout the weekend as they grown deeper in their faith.
What training do I need? There is a meeting for cabin leaders scheduled for Tuesday, October 14th from 7 – 8 pm in room 407B. In addition to this you need to have completed Safe & Sacred Training within the last 4 years. Please get us a copy of your card for our records. If you need to attend the Safe & Sacred training, we have two upcoming sessions. September 19 or October 21st.
